For 2016, Louisiana Super Lawyers selected Alfred F. Boustany, II to its list of super lawyers. In 2012, the National Trial Lawyers named him as Top 100 Lawyers in Louisiana. In 1994, the Eighth Edition of "Who's Who in American Law" (1994-1995) listed Alfred F. Boustany, II; Other accomplishments of Alfred F. Boustany, II, with the Boustany Law Firm include successfully arguing State v. Simpson before Louisiana Supreme Court changing state-wide allotment of criminal cases; Obtaining an opinion from the Louisiana Supreme Court on introduction of DNA evidence; Successfully completing a federal lawsuit upholding freedom of speech and press rights of university students. He has also lectured at various legal seminars for other attorneys including "A Crash Course in Criminal Procedure for Civil Practitioners," "Death by Trial, Louisiana Capital Defense, "DNA Testing, Admissibility and Discovery (Forensic Use of DNA Evidence)," Death Penalty Mitigation," Prison Life Mitigation," "The Death Penalty Team," "The Benjamin Brief, an Ethical Dilemma," "Pre-trial Motions and Other Issues in Criminal Cases," "Prison Life Mitigation." He also participated as a symposium panelist on Pretrial Publicity sponsored by University of Louisiana at Lafayette Journalism Department. Alfred F. Boustany, II has also, in the past, served by appointment to Rules Committee of the Louisiana Defender Board (Statewide board established by Louisiana Supreme Court); served as lead trial counsel in capital cases; served as Treasurer of the Lafayette Parish Criminal Bar Association; served by Appointment by the Governor to Louisiana Defense Assistance Board; served as an elected parish-wide member of the Democratic Parish Executive Committee; and served as President of the former 15th Judicial District Criminal Defense Bar.
